Say the word ‘destiny’ to people and it evokes pretty strong feelings and an array of different reactions.
For some, destiny is about walking your own path and creating your own unknowable future (in this way it differs from fate, where the future is already decided for you). For others it’s intrinsically intertwined with achieving something, maybe greatness, such as the legend of King Arthur pulling the sword from the stone.
Working with diamonds and coloured gemstones, I’m fortunate enough to have destiny be a part of the very fabric of my business. Because when it comes to precious stones, I believe that the stone always comes to its ultimate owner. Whatever its journey, it follows its destiny even when passing through the hands and lives of others, sometimes over decades or centuries, to end up where it needs to be.
As someone who gets to see destiny fulfilled on a regular basis, I encourage everyone in business, whether owners, employees, entrepreneurs, start-ups or sole traders, to keep their eyes (and minds and hearts!) open, so that when it comes, they too can weave a sense of destiny into their business day.
